Nashville's only one-stop outdoor-living partner, built by Derek and a small, devoted crew who've been building ponds and landscapes since 1996.
The short version.
Derek has been building ponds and landscapes since 1996. JVI Secret Gardens opened as a corner-lot nursery on Donelson Pike in August 2007 and grew, slowly, into something pretty rare for Nashville: a single shop where you can leave with a flat of perennials AND a full ecosystem koi pond on the calendar.
Derek earned Master Certified Aquascape Contractor status, one of only a few in the region, by spending years building, breaking, and rebuilding water features until the work was undeniable. The team's been featured on Volunteer Gardener (NPT), but most of the work is word-of-mouth, neighbor-to-neighbor, around Nashville, Brentwood, and Franklin.
The garden center stays family-run. The crew stays small on purpose. The work stays personal.

Less than 1% of pond builders earn this. Derek is one. It is the closest thing the industry has to a real credential.
30 years of pond craft. Almost 20 in the garden center.
Derek started building ponds and landscapes in 1996. We opened the garden center on Donelson Pike in August 2007. That's long enough to plant trees at customer houses and watch them grow up.
